new russian teenage subculture: what is so wrong with that?

yesterday discovered that a new subculture is emerging here in Russia. i am not very observant in this things though, but i was really pissed because of how people react on it.

this subculture is called vanilla girls (in russian it is ванильки) and it is popular mainly among teenaged girls. they are romantic, like London/NY, coffee, photography, wear buns, glasses, uggs, t-shirts "i love NY/London", listen to pop-rock.

well, okay. what is wrong with this? teenagers are meant to be rebellious and romantic. whats is so wrong to have a romantic blog about a guy, listen to music white sitting on the window and drinking coffee? what is so wrong that as a result thousands of internet trolls make a diversion, calling vanilla girls the ugliest creatures ever?

remembering myself at same age when there was no such subculture as ванильки. well, i was not wearing uggs and buns. but i was dreaming of moving to London, i had a t-shirt like that, i was constantly drinking coffee, making pictures, i wore glasses (and am still wearing them due to my eye sight), liked listening to sad music while walking in the rain. and i was in love, writing poems, having a special blog for that. so what?
any girl in 16-20 and even up needs to dream. of London, Amsterdam, beloved, whatever. and also i guess any one of us liked to try on a new mask in order to find himself.

so really what is so wrong with that?
besides, the so called "vanilla" photos are beautiful. btw photos like that are not new. around 5 years ago i spotted smth like that on veer.com
